Planilla de Excel para cálculo rápido de rasgos morfofisiológicos de semillas

Resumen

Se confeccionó una planilla en Excel para el cálculo rápido de 19 rasgos morfofisiológicos de semillas de fácil obtención. La planilla cuenta con siete hojas y los rasgos seminales abarcan propiedades relacionadas con la dispersión, persistencia, germinación y establecimiento de plántulas. En la primera hoja se introducen las variables primarias de longitud y masa de las semillas. A continuación, se muestran seis hojas donde aparece el cálculo automático de rasgos seminales de: 1) contenido de humedad, 2) forma, 3) distribución de biomasa, 4) relación embrión-semilla, 5) permeabilidad, y 6) tolerancia a la desecación. Para el cálculo de los índices se utilizaron expresiones matemáticas reconocidas en publicaciones científicas internacionales para el trabajo con semillas. El empleo de esta herramienta permitirá el procesamiento rápido de un gran número de réplicas por rasgo seminal. Para cada variable calculada se ofrece además la información básica sobre estadística de tendencia central y dispersión. Hasta donde conocemos esta es la primera vez que se propone una planilla de Excel para el cómputo rápido de un gran número de rasgos morfofisiológicos de semillas. Su empleo podría contribuir a la estandarización de estudios de biología seminal en Cuba y a nivel regional.
