Abstract
The province of Holguín has a high diversity of reptiles, concentrated in the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountains. However, population-level studies are scarce. Our objective is to contribute to clarifying the geographic distribution of Anolis smallwoodi and other related species in the coastal area of de Mayarí municipality, Holguín province. The study area covers the towns of Cabonico, located on the low coast north of the Sierra de Cristal, and Cayo Saetía. Between June and September 2024, populations of the Anolis equestris complex were observed and photographed. The morphological characteristics of the specimens were analyzed, which coincide with the main features of the diagnosis of Anolis smallwoodi af. saxuliceps.
