First report of Paratrikona lerouxii (Boheman, 1854) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Cassidinae) from the province of Guantánamo, Cuba

Abstract
The family Chrysomelidae is the second largest in number of species in Cuba, with 85 genera and 374 reported species, of which 306 are endemic. Despite recent studies on the subfamily Cassidinae, there is no work that allows the identification of all Cuban species, as well as distribution maps. For all the above reasons, the objective of this work is to report Paratrikona lerouxii (Boheman, 1854) for the first time to Guantanamo province, in Eastern Cuba. For the capture of these species, an extendable-handled net or a beating tray was used to strike branches with flowers or fruits and collect the falling insects. The genus Paratrikona includes seven species in the Antilles, two of them endemic to Cuba, with distribution mainly in the Central and Western parts of the island. A geographical distribution map is provided, along with a key that allows the identification of the species of the genus Paratrikona in Cuba.
