Terrestrial molluscs from the El Ramón de Antilla peninsula, Holguín

Abstract
On the El Ramón de Antilla peninsula, Holguín, 47 species of land snails, grouped into 14 families, were recorded through sampling and database consultations. Cerionidae with 9 species was the most diverse family. Of the total number of species, 38 are endemic, representing 81%. Eastern endemic species predominated with 16 (42%). Three species were categorized as threatened: Emoda blanesi (Vulnerable), Troschelviana spinopoma (Endangered) and Polymita muscarum (Critically Endangered). Ten species are proposed as conservation targets, but not all are within the proposed protected area “El Ramón de Antilla” Protected Natural Landscape. The distribution of local endemics and threatened species could limit areas for the investment project; however, these projects could preserve habitats.
